Thank you for booking in your session with me. I can’t wait to meet you and your loved ones and capture some memories for you.

So you’ve booked your session but not sure on location? Location can make all the difference to your shoot and can potentially take it from average to amazing.
Typically being a beach holiday destination the most obvious location is the beach but there are many many options here on our beautiful Sunshine Coast if the beach is not your thing.

I’ve put together this little guide to hopefully narrow down your options. Please feel free to ask any questions on any of the locations.

NOOSA LOCATIONS

Tea Tree

Tea Tree is located in Noosa National Park. You will need to park at the Noosa National Carpark and then it’s approx a 5 minute walk. It has amazing afternoon light and offers a range of textures including rocks, native foliage and of course the waters edge and ocean. The light is at it’s best in the last hour before sunset.

If the is swell it can be hard to get a carpark due to it being a popular surf spot so please be prepared to possibly get there a bit early to find a carpark.

Little Cove

Little Cove is located between Noosa Main Beach & Nationals. The closest carpark is Noosa Surf Club with a short 5 minute walk heading east along the boardwalk which overlooks First Point towards Nationals. You can also access by street parking in Little Cove.

Little Cove offers the same beautiful light as Tea Tree as is best at Golden Hour otherwise the light can be quite harsh. This location can be very busy in summer with tourists so if you do prefer some privacy, this may not be the location for you.

Noosa River Mouth

Noosa River Mouth is located at the river end of Hastings St past Noosa Woods all the way at the very end carpark. This location is best at Golden Hour otherwise the light can be quite harsh being west facing.

This is an easy location to access as you can step down to the beach from the car park. There are grassy dunes around the corner at the Groyne and then beautiful river mouth which lights up on sunset.

NORTHERN BEACHES/SURROUNDS

Sunshine Beach
Sunshine Beach is located approx 5 minutes drive from Noosa Heads. There are many different beach accesses to access this beach.

Sunshine Beach can offer protection from the Northerly wind if needed but is a bit of a walk to the pocket so may not be suitable for parents that need prams.

Emu Mountain

Emu Mountain is located between Peregian and Coolum and is small mountain that is easily accessible by most. If you would like to go up the mountain for a shot with a view it is a easy and quick climb, but not suitable for prams or wheelchairs.

This location is best on Golden Hour so either just before the sun rises or the last hour before sunset.

If you don’t particularly want a mountain climb but love the native fauna, there is a beach access close by which offers a beautiful track on the way to the beach so you can have the best of both worlds.

Beach Access (beach side):

COOLUM BAYS

The Coolum Bays are located south of the Coolum Main beach. First Bay & Third Bay are usually the most popular. First Bay is smaller and tide probably needs to be considered, Third Bay is dog friendly and a little bigger. Both offer both beach and rocks but Third Bay is little more open.

OTHER BEACH LOCATIONS

Twin Waters

Twin Waters is located near Mudjimba at Twin Waters. This is a dog friendly location which offers both river (this is ideal if you are wanting any water shots) and also open beach as well as little bit of foliage along the way.

If you are wanting water shots then sunset will be the best light as we face directly west when at the river.

Otherwise best at Golden Hour so either first light or late afternoon.

Point Cartwright

Point Cartwright is approx a 10 minute drive from Mooloolaba and can be accessed by both the river side or beach side. It is approx a 5 minute walk in and both pram and wheelchair friendly as well as a dog friendly location.

This location can offer protection from the wind on both sides, however, I prefer to shoot using the northern aspect due the wide open beach and rock platforms on low tide.

OTHER LOCATIONS

Other location suggestions:

There are a few field locations ranging anywhere from the Noosa Hinterland, to Montville/Maleny to cane fields in Coolum and Yandina. The best time to shoot these kind of locations is in Golden Hour.

Waterfalls and Rockpools are another option. Buderim and Yandina both have waterfalls. These locations may be better earlier in the day as due to the canopy, can become quite dark quickly.

Lake Weyba is also another option if you like the water but don’t like the beach.

If you are planning on a holiday there are many Air BnBs that make the perfect location for a shoot. From quirky caravans on the beach front to rustic barns in the hinterland.

Please get in touch for suggestions.
